Stimuli # 1 Breton, A 1926, The Spectral Attitudes (culture)
Andre Brayton is a representative of surrealism. Dadaism and surrealism are both avant-garde movements in history. He responded to the political and cultural crisis in the early 20th century with a cynical and critical attitude and questioned the thinking mode of militarism and science and technology. He once said that there was no preconceived intention.  The pen slides for writing and the pencil runs for painting. The rotation of the pen is undoubtedly the most precious substance. His poems bring the imagination of dreams into daily life and create a new reality through the daily common objects. He expresses his feelings or will by assuming the feelings of butterflies, birds, plaster, etc. In his poem, "I have a boat detached from all climates.", I think it means that he can go all the way to his dream. This poem has a very strange point. Every sentence of this poem has no connection with the next one. Therefore, I think this poem is composed of many people's different dreams. For example, "during the duel the Communists are unarmed", I think this sentence contains a dream of peace; "the planter figures have lost nothing of their expression", which embodies the belief that he will not be afraid of setbacks.
Stimuli # 5 Christo and Jean Claude 1997-1998. Wrapped trees (culture)
In their works, Christo and Jeanne Claude take landmark and nature as typical themes. They packaged trees with environmentally friendly materials, investigated trees and designed sewing patterns for each tree. These environmentally friendly materials can provide some protection for trees in winter. So I think sustainability can still be achieved in today's society. The trees are wrapped in 592015 square feet (55000 square meters) of polyester fabric (used to protect trees from frost and snow every winter in Japan) and 14.3 miles (23 kilometers) of rope. As far as I know, these two artists have perfected their sketches, and the tools they use have become more specialized over time and sketching. I think their works have a very obvious cultural expression. This is a sense of environmental protection. Artists cover trees with environmental protection materials, and finally form a complete and spectacular environmental art performance through the role of light and shadow.
